OVERVIEW:

Pangera is one of Midgard's continents and an important location in the series. The Asteri rule Midgard from Eternal City in Pangera, which is a conservative and traditional city with little technological access. At the beginning of book one, it is revealed that a human rebel group has been fighting the Asteri for forty years in what is referred to as the Pangeran conflict, although the fighting is still "confined to the Northern reaches of Pangera" (8).

Pangera was also were a rebellion, led by the Archangel Shahar and her commander, Hunt Athalar, took place 200 years prior to the beginning of book one. The rebellion was quickly defeated, and those who participated were enslaved as Fallen Angels. Most of the planet's enslaved population lives in Pangera, where they serve the Asteri and various Archangels.
