Book Club FAQ

  • Welcome to our trial run. We’re just getting started and can’t wait to sweep you along with us.

Paper/Cuts is a virtual, asynchronous book club that uses critical lenses to examine literary works and the cultures in which they emerged.

Our first book is Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas, and over an 8-week period you can expect a slew of layered deep dives, helpful resources, and our reactions to the book. Our goal: Prepare you for ACOTAR 6 while offering nuanced perspectives to satiate your curiosity.

And if all goes well, perhaps we'll choose another book to get lost in...

  • We’re determined to make this a book club for the busy reader, so participation is gloriously simple. Read (or reread) our chosen book with us and dive into one, several, or all of the following:

    • Content created by Gabriella and Elaine (Reels, podcasts, etc.)

    • Helpful resources on this page

    • Fun extras we’ll be adding along the way

  • We’re starting out with House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas. This is Book 1 in the thrilling Crescent City series.

  • These will change depending on the book. For our House of Earth and Blood read, we will be creating a reading guide, a glossary, a two-part podcast discussing our thoughts, and our final review of the book, all of which will be linked on the Crescent City page as they are released. We’ll also be sharing content relating to the book on our social media pages and saving it to a highlight on IG.

  • Nope! Read the book any time, and we will be releasing new content starting April 27th through June 15th. Keep in mind that some of our content might contain spoilers, but we will always give you plenty of warning.
