The Social Classes
Midgard has strictly enforced social classes that are modeled after those of Ancient Rome.
Civitas
Civitas is the highest ranking of the three classes that were established on Midgard long ago. The civitas rank gives one full citizenship in the Republic. Most Vanir belong to this class, and humans are not given this rank.
Peregrini
Peregrini is the second ranking of the three classes that were established on Midgard long ago. This is the rank given to humans since the beginning of the human rebellion. All sprites were cast out of the peregrini class due to some of their kind's participation in the Fall.
Lowers
Lower is the lowest ranking of the three classes that were established on Midgard long ago. Lowers are often enslaved magical beings such as chimeras and sprites, though many sprites refuse to accept their status as Lowers.
