Northern Rift
OVERVIEW:
The Northern Rift is a portal to other realms that is located in the north of Pangera, and it is closed at the beginning of book one.
According to the official history of Midgard, Prince Pelias of the Fae opened the Northern Rift and entered Midgard from the Fae's home realm. The Midgardian Fae believe that Prince Pelias was the first Starborn Fae, which allowed him to use a magical relic, referred to as Luna’s Horn, to open such a portal.
The Northern Rift was left open for an unspecified period of time called the Crossing, during which magical beings from various worlds entered Midgard. The Northern Rift also created a gateway to Hel, which the Fae and the Asteri did not like. During the First Wars, it is believed Prince Pelias used the Horn to close the Rift and banish the Princes of Hel to their realm. The effort was so great that the Horn broke into two pieces as a result.
