Luna’s Horn

OVERVIEW

Luna's Horn is an ancient Fae relic that was used by the Starborn Prince Pelias to open the Northern Rift. It originated in the home world of the Fae and it can only be utilized by those of Starborn descent. After the Horn was used to seal the Northern Rift, it broke into two pieces and no longer worked. The Horn was on display at Luna's Temple in Lunathion until it was stolen shortly before the beginning of Book 1.

Bryce reveals at the beginning of the book that Jesiba Roga has tasked her with finding the Horn. After a visit from Micah in which he implied the Fae have lost their power and status, the Autumn King recruits Ruhn Danaan to find the Horn because he believes it will return the Fae of Midgard to their former glory.

SPOILERS AHEAD

  • At the end of Book 1, Micah reveals to Bryce (when he psychotically tries to kill her at Griffin Antiquities) that he blackmailed Danika Fendyr into stealing Luna's Horn. According to Micah, he was worried about the Pangeran conflict spreading to Valbara, so he wanted to repair the Horn with synth, open a portal to Hel, and summon demons to wipe out the human rebellion.

While Danika didn't know what Micah wanted the horn for, she was suspicious of his intentions and decided not to give it to him. Danika had the Horn ground into a fine powder and mixed with witch-ink. Then, when Bryce was too drunk to question it, Danika suggested they get matching tattoos and had the Horn tattooed into the skin on Bryce's back. The tattoo is written in an ancient language, that, when spoken aloud, can activate the horn.

Despite trying to prevent Micah from using the Horn, he is able to inject Bryce with synth, which successfully repairs it. Before Bryce kills him, Micah channels his power into Bryce's tattoo to open portals to Hel in Lunathion's City Gates. Eventually, Bryce is able to close the portals after making the Drop and revealing that she is Starborn.
